Charles Edward Smith, Jr., 69, was called to rest Sunday, June 21, 2026.
His Service is Sunday July 5, 2026 time pending at New Bern Eastern M. B. Association Headquarters 885 Hwy. 306 N, Grantsboro, North Carolina. The Interment will follow at St. Mark AMEZ Church, Bayboro.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Smith, Charlotte, NC; daughter, Latasha Calvin, Chicago, IL; three brothers, Marvin Smith, Bayboro, Kenneth Smith, Ernul and Alton Hainsworth, Bayboro; four sisters, Catherine Jones, Maryland, Mamie Kirkman, Grantsboro, Evelyn Dixon, Bayboro and Peggy Gore, Maryland.

I was so sorry to hear about Charles passing. He was my brother-in-law many years ago, as so he remained and will always be. Please accept my sincere condolences during your time of bereavement. To me, he will always be Charles and forever Putt Putt.
