Chelsie Christine Long Forbes,94, of The Historic James City Community of New Bern reunited with loved ones Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Her funeral service is 11:00 AM., Friday, April 17, 2026 at Pilgrim Chapel M. B. Church, James City. The Interment will follow at Meadows Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Edward C. Forbes Jr., Darryl Forbes and Robert Forbes (Rachel) of New Bern; daughters, Deborah Roberts (Greg), Maryland, Hilda Forbes, Maryland, Fayette Forbes, Carmen Route (Kenneth) both of New Bern, Sybil Myers (Rufus), Maryland and Felicia Murphy (Randy), New Bern; brothers, Joe Hardy Long and Isaac Long Jr. (Debbie) both of Brooklyn, New York; two sisters, Marva Long, New Bern and Shirley Hatton, Maryland; seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
