Curtis Martin, 66, of Bowie, MD, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in Bowie, MD.
Curtis was born on January 10, 1957, in Havelock, NC to Dolly Martin Hall and the late Iceland Frazier.
In 1979, Curtis graduated from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in Durham, NC., with a Bachelors of Arts Degree.
In 1984, Curtis enlisted in the U.S Army as a Corporal Military Occupational Specialty and received the distinguished soldier award. Curtis enlisted to obtain practical experience in hospitality management. He was honorably discharged in April of 1988.
While at NCCU, he met Hattie Perry of Henderson, NC, and they later married on September 24, 1997.
His military experience led to a career in lodging management for 16 years. Curtis was employed in various fields—sales, banking, restaurant/hotel management, contract and business development along with serving as VP of Contracts and Business Development of Knight Protective Service, Inc., from which he retired.
His hobbies included golfing and cooking.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie Martin, Bowie, MD; daughters, Brittany Martin, Odenton, MD, and Dara Martin, Millersville, MD.; granddaughter, Rome Martin, Odenton, MD.; mother, Dolly Hall, Havelock, NC; sisters, Pandora Frazier, Durham, NC, Tracy Hall Alford (Theodore), Charlotte, NC and stepsister, Renee Mann, College Park, GA. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lindsey Hall.
