Obituary For Donald Louis Spruell

Donald "Donnie" L. Spruell, 66 passed Thursday, April 28, 2022.

Viewing hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Tuesday at Oscar's Mortuary. His Funeral Mass is 4:00 PM, Wednesday, May 4,2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church 3005 Country Club Rd. The interment will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Norma Faye White Spruell, of the home; mother, Evelyn Horton, New Bern; son, Duanquis Myell Spruell, Manassas, VA; daughter, Porsche Spruell, New Bern; brother, William Spruell, New Bern and two granddaughters.

Masks are required.

Family what can I say after it's all been said. Except that Donnie was so loved and he loved many others especially his family. Rest. See you on the other side.

it is rare that I read an obituary and can feel the character of the person. In this case his character and service to country are paramount. Please know that even those who never met Mr. Don are saddened by his passing. You can be assured that he is in the hands of our savior Jesus Christ. God bless you all.

To The Spruell Family. Don will truly be missed. He always had a smile on his face. He always was willing to help anyone that needed help on our job. I will always remember his words of encouragement he would say to me when things got rough. He would say, "Brenda, do your job and go home!" That's exactly what Don did. Worked hard all day and when his shift ended, he headed for the door and went home to be with his wife. I will miss you Don. See you on the other side.

My last memory of Don was seeing him having such a hardy laugh with a customer at Wal-Mart that it made me stop and stare, and I told the person I was talking with to look at Don, he is so happy, little did I know this would be my last memory of him but at the same time a memory that I will cherish in my heart,I'm so glad I was in the right place to see that, I've never knew a person more perfect of a human being such as Don.
