Obituary For Doris Gibbs Hicks
Doris Gibbs Hicks, 82, of 5500 Maple Cluster Court, Virginia Beach, VA peacefully accepted her wings on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at her residence surrounded by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Miles Hicks, Jr, mother Mable N. Gibbs, father Zeb E. Gibbs, Sr., sister, Deloris G. Wright, and grandson, Cory A. Fisher.
She is survived by one brother Zeb E. Gibbs, Jr., two daughters Bonnie H. Fisher (Frederick), and Lamond D. Cox, five sons, Charles R. Hicks, Calvin Hicks, Ronnie Hicks (Stephanie), Darnell Hicks (Donna), Bernie M. Hicks, two adopted daughters Davida Wright, and Dina Carroll, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchild, three nieces, one nephew, six great-nieces, one great-nephew and host of friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends at Graves Funeral Home, 1631 Church St, Norfolk, VA 23504, on Tuesday, August 11, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. The celebration of life will be at 5641 Herbert Moore Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, on Wednesday, August 12, at Noon. In lieu of florals, memorial donations may be made, in her honor, to the American Cancer Society of Tidewater https://ccfot.org/.
