Heartfelt condolences from the Alexander & Eunice Monroe family. Aunt Doris not only opened her heart to us, she opened her home whenever we were in Morehead City. Her strong, unconditional and enduring love for family, church and community uplifted generations. She shared her many gifts with all. Words can not express the loss that this community feels at this time. Ms. Doris Pretty has been a staple of many lives, she gave of herself to the community through her giving shelter to those in need, through comfort while playing the piano or organ or just sharing her story of working to take care of her family. Ms. Doris will be missed but her legacy will live in the eyes of her children and grandchildren and stories they will pass along to generations to come. For there will only be one Doris Pretty and she is now taking her much deserved rest. Godspeed to faithful servant. Family of Fred Tillery
