I've known Ms. Esther for over 50 years and every time I talked with her, her spirit was always the same--gentle and kind. She was my neighbor. As a child, she was one of the elders who truly looked out for the children in the neighborhood as we ran up and down our dirt road. She was an unchanging and comforting presence through the years. While we mourn her transition, we also know that she now wears her crown. I hold the Matthews in my heart today (Kim, Buddy, Paul, and Velvet), knowing that Ms. Esther's death is not an ending--but a transformation. Her spirit is free, now. Thank you, Ms. Esther, for watching over me as I walked that dirt road--and thank you for watching over all of us until we meet again. And so it is.

To the Matthews family, so sorry to hear of Ms. Esthers passing. I remember all the times she would come to help us sing in the choir. She was always willing to do her part, which sometimes meant a road trip, which she didn't mind. She was truly an honorary member of our choir and church family. She will be missed. Praying for each of you.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
