Obituary For George Joseph Spang Jr.
George Joseph Spang Jr.,97, of New Bern a native of Melrose, MA was called to rest on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at PruittHealth-Trent.
He is survived by his three sons, George J. Spang III, Atkinson, NH, Thomas Edward Spang, Derry, NH and Peter Andrew Spang, Lowell, MA; brother, David Albert Spang, Chelmsford, MA; three grandchildren, Jared, Kirsten and Joshua.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association.

My name is Julanda Howard, and I've been caring for Mr. George Spang for over seven years now. He was an exceptional man, and my family and I always welcome him to our home during the holidays. To help me care for him at home, I hired a friend of mine, Marion Johnson, who also assisted in his care. Mr. Spang had been around since World War II, and the stories he would tell us were truly remarkable. I cherished the time I spent caring for him and am incredibly grateful to have known and cared for him. During my last visit to the nursing home, I expressed my love for him, saying, "I love you, bud, and I'll see you soon." He replied, "I love you too, be safe going home." One of my passions is caring for seniors, and as a caregiver, you develop a deep attachment to the elderly. I love you, bud, and may you rest in peace until we meet again.
Psalm 34:18 tells us that God is near to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
