Gilbert “ Hope” Hargett,90, a native of Craven County was called rest Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Oxford Nursing Home, Brooklyn, NY.
His Service is 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Oscar's Memorial Chapel. The Interment will follow at the White Cemetery Jasper Community.
He is survived by his children, Clayton Brown and Blanie Hargett, Brooklyn, NY, Phyllis Hargett, Karen Blake, Leah Hargett, Paula Hargett; sister, Ida Hargett Whitehead of Cove City; brother, Freddie Lee Hargett, Greensboro, George Hargett, Trenton, NC, Grover Hargett, New Bern and McNeal Hargett, Vanceboro; several grand and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Uncle Hope will always be remembered 😢 especially his smile/laugh.
