James Arthur Batie,89, of New Bern was called to rest on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Friends will be received at the residence 528 W. Grantham Rd. New Bern, NC 28562.
Viewing hours are Thursday and Friday 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
His Service is 1:00 PM, Monday, March 9, 2026 at Reform Shiloh M. B. Church 406 Plum St. James City Community of New Bern.
The interment will follow at Meadows Cemetery with Military Honors.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Batie, New Bern; two daughters, Tina Batie Davis, Raleigh, NC and Tonya Batie-Washington, Sumter, SC; two grandchildren, Aleigha Criego and Antonio Criego; an honorary grandchild, Jasmine Jackson;one brother, Thomas Batie, Mobile, AL; one sister, Johnnie Edna Christian, Troy, AL.
We praise the Lord that Bro. Jimmy got his Heavenly wings.
To Mother Sarah, our sisters Tina and Tonya; Aleigha and Antonio, we pray the strength and comfort of God to see you all through. Earth has no sorrow, Heaven can not heal. You all did well in caring for him. Remember Psalm 121.
