Joyce Ann Dibiase,92, passed away peacefully Monday, July 20, 2026.
Joyce was born in Jamaica Plain, MA on February 19th 1934. She met the love of her life, Jerry Dibiase, while working at Bloomingdales. They married on September 17, 1955 and had three daughters. They raised their family in Stamford, CT.
Joyce, deeply devoted to her faith and committed to serving others, was especially proud of her volunteer work at St. Joseph's Hospital and St. Cecilia's Church where her kindness and compassion touched many lives and found great fulfillment in serving her parish community. She was also a talented seamstress who lovingly made Halloween costumes for her children, a tradition she took great pride in.
She and her husband retired to New Bern, NC in 1989. There, Joyce found a love for playing mahjong and cherished the friendships and laughter that came with it. A loving neighbor and loyal friend, Joyce was known for her kindness, generosity, and the genuine care she showed to those around her. She also found great joy in shopping for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always delighting in finding the perfect gift to bring a smile to their faces.
Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Dibiase; two daughters, Julie and Joy; two sisters, Dorothy Murphy and Priscilla Balchunas; her bother, Ronald Thomes; grandchildren, David Dibiase, Gena Sedelnick, Hillary MacGregor, Abigail Cerreta and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Jill Stewart (Dibiase); two brothers, Cecil (Hal) Thomes Jr. and Howard Thomes.
