God has received a true disciple! I had the privilege of working with 'Paps' from ~2010-2018. After I moved back to TN for family reasons, Paps and I continued to keep in touch, partly due to my relationship with Paul and Jodi Campbell. Each time Paps and I would connect, our conversations would end with Paps giving the most eloquent prayer. I'm so blessed that Paul informed of the recent hospital visit that Paps made and I was able to speak with him one last time, with Carolyn by his side.
*Carolyn, my deepest sympathies to you and your family. You are a special woman and I can't imagine the grief you are experiencing at this time. Rest assured that God is taking care of one of his greatest representatives; hands down.

Carolyn I am truly sorry for your loss. Kelly and I grew up together we played basketball, baseball and so many other things together. When I look at him so many memories come to mind he was truly a good father, husband and most importantly to me a great friend. God Bless you and your family. "JUICE" Eric Monk
Carolyn, we are so sorry for your lost. I wish that I could say something to you to help make this easier to bare. "But God" This is a bittersweet moment for us. The bitter is the lost of a great friend. The sweet is having the opportunity of having him as a friend. Kelly Lee Jones, Jr. has many names that we call him: Pap, My Pappy, Bingo. I call him "David Brinkly" because he was well known thoughout the communities, towns, cities and states. He was ontop of everything around him. If you didn't know him, I guarantee before he left your present, you would have known him. What a great "Legacy" he left us. He was Loving, happy, kind, a hard worker and friendly. Being a friend to him was so strong that he made you fill like you and only you, was his best friend. If he can help you in anyway he would do just that. Oh, he would talk trash to you 😊 but he didn't mean it. Rest on our dear friend 🧡

The Maribel Community sends their deeps condolences to the family of Kelly aka "Pap" Jones. He was well known and loved by all of us here, from mowing our lawns, to stopping in to say "Hey, how are you doing" that was just the kind hearted caring neighbor who loved to talk about "My Father"
Carolyn and Family, We are saddened to hear that Pap has left his earthly home, yet my spirit rejoices in the memories and in how deeply he truly loved God. Having to escape the long conversations you were sure to have whenever your paths crossed with him will always be remembered.
My last memory—going to get my water turned on as we prepared to move—still brings laughter to my heart. I kept saying, "I've got to go, cuz!" yet he just kept right on talking.
Please remember that even in the most difficult of times, his favorite words still ring true: "But God."
Please know that we are praying with you all.
To Carolyn, Muh, Pap's children and grands,
My deepest and sincerest condolences to you all. Pap was like a brother to my brother DeWitt and I because our mom thought it him was a son. Pap has helped me when I was in my addiction with no judgement but so concern. I'm forever grateful for him reaching out when he didn't have to. As he could say "But God" 🙌🏾. Every since I heard him say "But God" at his wedding, I've been saying it every since. I thank God for allowing him to be a BIG BROTHER to us. Rest peacefully Pap... Forever in our hearts 💙

To Carolyn, Aunt Leatrice and rest of the family you have my sincere condolences. Cousin Pap will truly be missed by many. He would stop by my office and check on me faithfully when I lost my son. To Carolyn and the entire family of Pap; Heartfelt love, prayers and condolences go out to you all during your time of sorrow! Pap has always been a kind and funny schoolmate, cousin and friend. Whenever we saw each other when he was working in my neighborhood or at other events, we always had a laugh and a good conversation. May God grant you peace, comfort and strength in the days ahead. R.I.P. Pap!!!🙏🏾🥰
I pray for Paps family this is such a major loss of a good man. One of the best guys i ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. A big part of bringing me closer to God and some of the most important lessons were learned working with him on the side of the many roads of Craven County. Couldnt have asked for a better person to spend that time with. He cared deeply about those around him and would tell you the honest truth when you needed to hear it. I hate to hear hes gone. Wish I could hear him say BINGO again. But i am extremely grateful I got to meet and spend so much time with such a genuinly good person. God bless ol Pappy
Our deepest heartfelt condolences go to your family. May God grant you peace that's suppresses all understanding.

My sincere condolences to the family, Pap and Carolyn is my classmates who I love so dearly. Carolyn my heart is broken for u cause i seen u and him from the beginning. Pap and I use to sit along side the road in James city in our work trucks and talk almost every week or just yell at each other out the window. I'm truly gonna miss our conversations, RIP my brother.
It is hard to believe he is gone, but he will never be forgotten. He was one of the hardest working men I knew. He would drive for me when I had to preach long distance, and he kept us laughing all the way there and back. Carolyn we are truly praying for you and the family through this difficult time. Pap was truly a good Samaritan, and would help whoever he could. RIP my Brother
