My Uncle Larry was the very definition of what a man should inspire to be. He was a loving faithful devoting husband and father, hardworking, a great provider to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and loaned out money like he was Chase Bank to anyone that was in need lol. He was the type of man that never talked the talk but he always walked the walk. His very presence demanded respect, and he always carried himself with strength, confidence, and dignity, the very definition of a leader. He almost never lost his cool, but if he did it was for a damn good reason. He is what most folks would call a "Mans Man", and what I loved about him the most is he always saw the potential in everyone, and if you did not know what direction your life was going; just call him and he would probably tell you to join the military lollol... Some may say he was a bit intimidating, but yet at the same time he was very admirable. He always welcomed me in his home, and he never one time made me feel like I over stayed my welcome cause trust me if it was left up to me I would had never left, I truly enjoyed spending every moment at Aunty Jackie and Uncle Larrys house. And to top it all off he serve a country that not all the time serve us black folk in return, but yet he served with pride and joy and never complained not one bit. And for those service men and women flying Black Hawk choppers right now, if your unit was serviced by Larry Key you can rest assure you will make it home to your family, yeah he was that dude....I will def miss him but I will never forget the lessons that he instilled in me that I carry till this day. One thing is for sure he has reunited with the love of his life, Aunty Jackie Key and if you know him he is Okay with that so dry your tears. My finale Salute to a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grand Father, Brother, Uncle and last but not lease to a dedicated Solider "Well Done Ye Faithful Servant Now Receive Your Crown Of Glory"
You will always have a place in my heart. May God receive you with open arms. My prayers to your family.
I was Larry's 2nd shift supervisor at FRC East several years ago. He was a hard worker and a pleasure to work with. On top of that he was a kind man. I enjoyed talking with him. So sorry for the family's loss. The world is a lesser place without Mr. Larry Key.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
