There are people that crosses life passes and fail their assignment. Then there are those that understand their assignment. Dec. Lewis understood his assignment and he finished and passed the course. I loved this man, he was a spiritual father and a friend. He loved me and he smiled, opened his eyes and told me. Thanks Tina, Tony and you siblings for sharing him with me. I love you guys. Rest Easy Dec.
He will be missed very much
Condolences and prayers of comfort for the family of Deacon Lewis. He was a longtime friend of the Hudson family. Whenever I saw him whether out and about in town or at the NBEMBA headquarters building he always greeted me with a smile and called me "Hudson"'. His faithful service to the NBEMBA and other religious/ civic organizations was evident because he was always there serving in many capacities. His service and dedication will be missed by many!

So sorry to hear of the passing of Deacon Lewis. He was very faithful at whatever duty he had to do. I would often see him sitting in his car on Wednesday evenings waiting for Bible study to begin at Tabernacle Church. He was also very present at Historic Mt. Shiloh when he was a member there. I can't say enough about his faithfulness to the New Bern Eastern Missionary Baptist Association. This is another good soldier who has stuck his sword in the Golden Sand and gone to be at rest. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Praying for the family at this difficult time.
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
