Obituary For Mark Scali

Mark Victor Scali, a beloved father, brother, mentor, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023, at the age of 67 in New Bern, North Carolina. He was born on November 3, 1955, in Baldwin, Long Island, New York, to his parents, Louis and Anne Scali, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his son Mikael Holcombe-Scali, who he always considered as the greatest accomplishment of his life; his brother, Bruce M. Scali, and his sister, Janet Scali; his nieces and nephews Justin Scali, Taryn Coakley TJ, Brandon and Derek LoVerde, Richard and Tina Feliciano, and his godchild Emily Noce Kistler. Mark had a passion for life and loved to meet new people. He relocated to New Bern, North Carolina in 2015, because he wanted to be near the ocean. He moved there without knowing anyone in the area. His memory will be cherished forever, and his legacy will live on through his son, Mikael, and his family. Rest in peace, Mark, and may your spirit live on in the hearts of those who love you.

Our sympathy goes our to Mark's family, especially his son. Mark shopped at our downtown store, Living Well Down east, and brought so much joy into the store on every visit. He had talked about his son's visit a while ago. He loved his cat, Rocky and mourned over him. On his last visit he shared he might be ready to get another cat. We all love Mark and will deeply miss him.
