I remember as a youth, Mrs Barnwell speaking kindly to us. She was a neighborhood mother. I remember her son, "John John" playing with my brother. Mrs. Barnwell always knew where to find him when he would lose track of time. Rest queen. Floretta Barrett Campbell

Her conversations were always stimulating and full of wisdom. Her love, strength, kindness and smiles will always be remembered. I recall the lovely roses and other flowers she tended with your father - Dr. Barnwell. They were often seen during the poolside chats in the backyard. She was indeed a lovely rose in this world.
