I met Randy (always Brother Randy to me) in 1973 when I was stationed at the National Security Agency. I was a military instructor and he was a student in my class. We became life-long friends. Both of us were assigned to Project Hippodrome in Sinop, Turkey. We told each other war stories about our hometowns. I learned all about Havelock, NC, a small town I finally got to see in 1998 while attending a military logistics conference in nearby Atlantic Beach, NC. In Sinop, we ate Turkish ice cream and watched over 200 movies together. He attended my promotion to Warrant Officer. We went on the chapel tour to see biblical cities including Ephesus, Antalya and Cappadocia, Turkey. Mary and I have Cornelia and all her family in our thoughts and prayers. We miss you Brother Randy. R.I.P.
