May GOD give the Harrison FAMILY comfort and peace during this sorrowful time. Greg was a GIANT OF A MAN. He always had such thoughtful ideals while GUIDING others with decisions concerning the COMMUNITY OF EXCELLENCE. He visited my tutoring programs in Goldsboro NC on several occasions and made suggestions that helped me as a leader,my tutors, and my students. I PRAY that GOD CONTINUE to cover the Harrison FAMILY with the blood of JESUS:
Fear thou not, For I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 Our Prayers and Love to the Family. Luther Tootle, Jr. Family
A life well life well lived. To Ms Helen and Family, my most sincere condolences. Mr Greg enriched my life with his stories, I will always remember of Sunday afternoon chats, Tales and more tales. Our trip to Washington Dc with the guys was an experience, and I will always remember him for introducing me to the joys of NASCAR, Bristol and Darlington. I have a distant memory of being carried in strong arms, cheek stubble against my face, and a deep voice speaking calming words that I was too young to understand. Later, when I was able to walk on my own, I would stand in the hallway, watching him prepare for work. It was a strange and arduous process, this morning ritual. Shaving cream and after shave. Tiny flecks of tissue blossoming red where he'd nicked himself. He never seemed to acknowledge any pain. Shoes polished to mirror clarity. Uniform pressed to perfection, pants creased like razors, as if to slice through whatever obstacles might lie ahead. And, as I would later learn, there were a myriad of daily obstacles he would face, being a black Marine in the 1950s. He was a soldier. Loyal. Proud. Dutiful. Unafraid. And that's mostly how I remember him. I don't have a lot of childhood memories of my Father. Duty took him away for most of my youth. Duty brought him back. But by the time he returned, I was already gone. If not literally, then for all practical purposes. I see no reason to talk falsely now. But I loved him. Respected him. Admired him. And I always felt safe in his company. Good bye, Dad.
We are so sorry for your loss and asking God to give you comfort and peace during this difficult time. Roger and Dora Jones

Thank you all for your love and well wishes for my father. He was and is loved by many from coast to coast. The photo shoots, slides, emails, calls, NASCAR updates, .... battles over football, politics and directions to the restaurant in Henderson NV too! The main thing that I will miss is my father calling me 'Gus'. You have been calling me Gus since I was four years old Dad, I am happy to have shared life with you. In my post about Greg and I serving in the Marine Corps together, I failed to identify myself as Jerry and Judy Vickers.
I worked with Greg in the Marine Corps for several years. He was a great friend and mentor. We commuted to work together for a year while we were stationed in Iwakuni, Japan, and Agana, Guam, Greg had a keen sense of humor and always had some great stories to tell. Judy and I wish his family and friends our most sincere condolences.
To the Family of Ret. Major Gregory Harrison, we offer our most sincere heartfelt condolences. Greg as he was affectionately known, has been a part of our lives since the early 90's and will truly be missed. We pray for spiritual and mental strength as well as family unity. May God bless each of you.
