Obituary For Reverend Dr. C. C. Satterfield, Jr.
Reverend Dr. C. C. Satterfield, Jr. passed Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
Viewing hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Thursday at Oscar's Mortuary. The service will be live streamed on Oscar's Mortuary Facebook Page.
His Funeral Service is Friday, October 3, 2025, 11:00 AM at St. Peter's AME Zion Church. Interment will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
Reverend Dr. C.C. Satterfield, Jr., is survived by his wife, Reverend Annette Hoskins-Satterfield, of the home; two sons, Allen C. Satterfield (Nancy) of PA and Brandon C. Satterfield (Noelle) Zebulon, NC; five daughters, Alverta S. Dixon (Robert), Flower Mound, TX, Mona Lisa Palmer (Joseph) Suwanee, GA, Qiana Santiago, Rockingham, NC, Candice Kaufman (Jeffrey) Browns Summit, NC; Kesse Satterfield, New Bern, NC; fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Rev Satterfield was our pastor at St James AME Zion Church. During his pastoral guidance our children grew up and his family became our family. His dynamic sermons shall forever be remembered as his voice could be heard on both Park and Hunter Streets. He was a true pastor and his lovely family accompanied him. The community has lost a pillar and the AME Zion Church has lost a giant with the passing of Rev. Dr. Satterfield. Our loss is certainly Heaven's gain! Rev. Dr. Satterfield will be missed and we thank God for sharing this gift with us. His family, friends and former parishioners will remain in our prayers.
