Edna and the entire family, My heart started to hurt even before I was informed of Shelton Earl's untimely departure. From the deepest depths of my heart, I offer you and the family my sincerest CONDOLENCES. Shelton Earl wasn't just a friend; he was my buddy. We met as classmates at S. W. Snowden and the rest is history. We played basketball, argued from time to time. But we loved each other through it all. Shelton Earl, Watson and I served our nation from Fort Bragg, NC. We rode home together or followed each other in those beautiful muscle cars we were driving. We would party out on the Hill, (Monroe Shop, Bro Abbie, Napoleon, Cherry, Mr. Doc), every weekend like it was 1999. The argument started around 1:00am each Sunday night out in front Monroe concerning who was going to drive first so we would arrive back at Bragg before Reville. Oh, Edna the times we had together. I still remember when he brought that black Dodge Duster and wanted all of us to know that he now had the fastest car in town. Anyone can have a friend, but only SPECIAL people have a BUDDY for life. Before my Buddy departed this world, he took the time from all he was dealing with to tell my wife to tell me bye and that he loved me. THAT'S A BUDDY! "Really gonna miss you; it's really gonna be different without you; Time is gonna be hard and slow; for the rest of my life; I'll miss you my buddy; I'll miss you my friend; in your finest hours, I was there with you; And without you things won't be the same; But there is a higher power that we answer to; And you heard Him calling your name; Really gonna miss your smiling face. I'm gonna miss you my BUDDY! (Smokey) P.S. He truly loved his family, and he could never stop talking about his Shining Star. Dr. Robb "aka" Robert Hill

Granddad, I love you. Although this hurts, I'm at peace knowing you're no longer suffering. You were strong and fought until you couldn't fight no more. Your job on this side is done, you gained your wings, fly high, and continue watching over us. Your words of wisdom and the love you had for your family and friends will always be remembered. I'm so thankful I made it home last weekend to be able to hug and comfort you one last time. You'll be truly missed but I know we'll meet again on the other side🕊️🤍.

To Wife, Edna, children and grand kids you have my Condolences for the passing of cousin Shelton Earl. I did talk to him sometime toward the end of last year.It was always great to hear from him. We hadn't seen each other in a while but we talked on the phone. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Praying Hod strengthen and comfort you at this time and in the da6s ahead. Cousins: Mary Adams Brooks, Deloris Pardue, Patricia Ikard and Keith Keyes.
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our cousin. He lived with my family for a time and became a son to my mama and a brother to me and my siblings. He always had my back. I know he is resting peacefully in our Father's arms. He said to me during many conversations "I am going to be alright " that brings me comfort. To Edna and the children and grandchildren he loved you all very much. We can look forward to a heavenly reunion at the appointed time. Rest in that knowledge. Saying good bye is heartbreaking but we lift our eyes upward to a higher power. Dixon Family-Earscell, Fred and Shelia
