Sincere condolences to the Kelly and Boilling family. I met Twyla my first year of public school in Ms Fleming's 4th grade class and we graduated together Class of 1975. Rest in Peace Twyla.

Today I'm saying goodbye to a very special childhood friend, Twyla. We were born just five days apart, lived right next door to each other on Second Avenue, and grew up together as friends and classmates. ( 1975 )

My mom used to tell me a story about when we were babies. She said Twyla's mother would sit on their front porch with Twyla, while my mom would have me sitting on our front porch. Twyla was already walking, while I was still crawling! 😂

As we got older, I would always joke with Twyla, "I was born before you, and you had the nerve to walk before me!" We would laugh about that together. It's a little memory that has stayed with me all these years.

I will also always cherish the memory of when Twyla and her husband came to Virginia Beach on vacation. I went to her hotel to see her, and we laughed, talked, and caught up like no time had passed at all.

We shared so much more than a neighborhood. We shared childhood, school days, laughter, memories, and a friendship that began when we were just babies.

Twyla, I'm so grateful that our paths crossed in this life. Some friendships are forever, even when we have to say goodbye. You will always have a special place in my heart.

Rest peacefully, my dear childhood friend.
