He is survived by his children, Willie R. Garfield, III, Beaumont, TX Gwendolyn Davis, New Bern, Catherine Garfield of New Bern; six grandchildren; four brothers, James Michael Garfield, Ander Garfield, David Garfield and Gary Garfield all of New Bern; six sisters, Rosa G. Schiffer of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Kelly G. McQueen of Boston, MA, Debra G. Jones, Vivian G. Smith, Vernell Garfield all of New Bern and Joan G. Johnson of Landover, MD
