Obituary For Willie Ray Locklear Jr.

Willie Ray Locklear Jr.,76, passed Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at his residence.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Hope In Christ Ministries, located at 2501 Trent Rd., New Bern, North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Johnson Locklear of the home; three daughters, Christina Riley (Chris) and Brenda Meadows (Joe) both of New Bern and Janece Locklear, Greenville, NC; granddaughter, Madeline Riley; four sisters, Reatha Phillips, Cammie Sowards, Ressie Locklear Lewis, Lois Eubanks.

Willie loved his church and telling others about Jesus. He used every opportunity to pray for whoever he encountered. Next to the Lord, he loved his family more than anything. Nothing made him happier than making a bonfire and sitting around it with family. Spring was his favorite time of year because he enjoyed mowing grass and landscaping yards. He loved working in his church, singing, playing his harmonica and cleaning the church. He has reunited with his beloved brother Rayford.

Willie was my neighbor for over 25 years; we helped each other routinely over the years and talked of Jesus and the hereafter on many occasions - Rest in Peace with the Lord - Brother Willie. Paul Scinto, Sr.

Mr. Willie was nice, good, and hardworking gentleman. He mowed our lawn for several years and always did an excellent job. My prayers and condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
