Ms. Betty Jean Dunlap departed her earthly life on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the age of 84. Betty was a longtime resident of High Point and later moved to Winston Salem to be with her family after experiencing health issues. She was born in Anson County to the late Merritt Short, Sr., and Willie Mae Moses Short.
Betty completed her education and graduated from Morven High School. Later in life, she moved to Thomasville, NC, where she entered the workforce. Betty's journey was one of faith, kindness, and love. She accepted Christ into her life and became a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ray McCluney. Betty continued her walk with Christ and became a member of Word of Life under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Lee Diggs. Betty became a member of Spirit of Life Ministries, led by Pastor Phillip Biggs, where she stayed until she moved to Winston-Salem, NC. Betty was a prayer warrior who loved the Lord and treated everyone she met with kindness! Those who knew her would attest to her loving smile and a big heart, which she shared with family, friends, and whoever she met. Even during her final days, she remained a source of inspiration, finding joy in her faith and the love she shared with those around her. She always found a way to put a smile on her face!
