Obituary For Mrs. Avis LaDane Nelson
Ms. Avis LaDane Saulter Nelson made her transition from this earthly life on Saturday April 8, 2023 at Moses Cone Health Care Center. She was born in High Point on June 13,1958 to the late James C. Saulter Sr. and Leola Middlebrooks Saulter. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Iola G. Fant, and Wanda D. Saulter; and three brothers, Willie J. Ezell, Stephen L. Saulter and James C. Saulter, Jr.
Lovingly called “Nuka” by family and friends she was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Jamestown, NC under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie Middlebrooks.
Nuka loved her family and enjoyed all sorts of family events and making memories. She was a second mom to all of her nieces and nephews- and many family friends; “my children” as she would say.
She left her earthly home survived by two sons; Kenneth “Ron” Nelson (Jessica) and Quentin D. McCoy (Danika); two bonus children, LaPorsha McCoy and Timothy McCoy Jr. (TJ); seven grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Ezell (Kimika) and Jeffrey C. Saulter (Kim); also, her oldest niece whom she considered more of a sister than a niece; Tonita G. Foxx along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other dear family members whom she loved dearly. As she had a great love for outdoors; the family would like to Thank You all for helping us to make this a Great Celebration of Life and for all the outpouring love that has been shown during this difficult time. A celebration of Life for Avis L. Nelson will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at City Lake Park, Shelter#9, 602 West Main Street, Jamestown, NC.

It really saddens 😭😭my heart on the passing of my longtime dear friend since elementary. We attended Leonard St. & Griffin Jr. High together. We attended different High Schools,but we never lost touch. She was always the most sweetest friend. Every time we'd run into each other in our later years she was always the same. I remember our last conversation so clearly. God has most certainly gained a beautiful angel 😇. Fly High My Friend 🕊️🕊️🕊️.
