Obituary For Mrs. Phyllis Nesbitt McManus

Phyllis Nesbitt McManus made her transition from this life to life eternal on Sunday, April 19, 2020. She was born on October 7, 1965 to the late Hasker Lee Nesbitt, Sr. and Eloise Robbins Nesbitt. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Hasker Lee Nesbitt, Jr. (Sonny) and Larry Leon Nesbitt; sisters, Barbara Ann Gregory Simmons and Parthenia Davis, and her loving dog “TACO”.

Phyllis was a long standing member of New Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member of AVOW (Anointed Voices Of Wisdom), The Gladiators, Church Greeter, Kitchen Ministry, JC Queen’s Dance Ministry advisor and SOAR (Summer Of Adventure ReImagined) where she was affectionately known as “Aunt Phyllis”.

Phyllis was also known as “ChillyRatt, and was the baby girl of seven children born to Hasker Lee Nesbitt, Sr. and Eloise Robbins Nesbitt. She was educated in the Guilford County School System where she graduated from Southwest Guilford High School Class of 1983. After graduation, she went on to further her education at The Prestigious North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University.

Phyllis was employed with Time Warner Cable for 18 years.

Left to cherish her memories are her son of the home, William Devon McManus; sisters, Harriett Nicholson (Larry) of Simpsonville, SC.; Joyce McBride (Sheron) and Janice Camp of High Point, NC; goddaughters, Jalah Lee, Ladayisa and Tionna Boyd; godson, Jaquez Boyd and her loving friend, Gary James as well as nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

A private funeral service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2020. Interment will be at Carolina Biblical Gardens. Mrs. McManus will lie in state Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Saddened.I have been so numb with the news of Phyllis transitioning. My Prayers are of Comfort to the Family and Friends whose lives, such as mine, have been blessed by her Earthly presence. Another Sweet Angel has earned her Eternal Wings of Life. Rest Peacefully!

I had not seen here for years but we ran into each other this past summer at New Bethel church during their summer camp. I received the biggest hug and smile from her. Hi I just wanna say that I will be there for my family aunt Phyllis and I were very close I was shocked to hear that she had passed the last time me and her talked was March 11 2020 on Facebook messenger she will always be here on this earth with me god knows I can't let her go just yet but I know she is in a better and happy place but I'm gone always keep and the fam very close to me and never let them go
