I met Frazine (Kennett) at the age of 8 and she married my father Donald. She had a kind & beautifu spirit. We spoke at least once a year (Christmas) just to catch up on life and always offered me guidance in completely my family Tree. A beautiful legacy of information has been left to help others find their roots.

Mrs Taylor was an inspiration and a partner on so many projects critical to documenting, memorializing and honoring the Black American story in Alabama and throughout the country. It was a personal joy and privilege to have her help enhancing EJI's early work to document Racial history through historical markers with the support and sponsorship of the Black Heritage Council led by Mrs Taylor. I'm so fortunate that our relationship continued beyond that collaboration begun in 2013, and that we had the chance to spend time together on several occasions this year.
Ms. Frazine is loved, she will be deeply missed, and her legacy lives on. I send warm and heartfelt condolences to her family and dear ones. With love, Jennifer Taylor
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ms. Frazine Taylor. I had the privilege of working alongside her at Alabama State University, where our shared passion for African American genealogy led us on many enlightening journeys together, exploring family histories and uncovering stories that shaped our heritage.
Ms. Taylor had a unique way of making every moment memorable. I'll always cherish the memory of her bib, which she so lovingly carried in her purse for those historical conference luncheons and events. It was her signature touch, turning even the simplest meal into a delightful occasion with a bit of humor and grace.
She was not only an inspirational mentor but also a trailblazer, becoming the first African American president of the Alabama Historical Association. Her leadership and dedication were truly remarkable, and I looked up to her with great admiration.
Her legacy will continue to inspire everyone who had the honor of knowing her. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
With sympathy and respect,
Brandon A. Owens, Sr., Ph.D.
