I pray God's peace and comfort for the Jasper and Mitchell family on the loss of Carolyn. To this day, I remember when Carolyn and her sister came down the hall into the dorm room that we shared at Virginia State in 1965. I was extremely happy to room with someone I knew through my family and from Maggie Walker High School. Included in that golden relationship with Carolyn was David Buddy Mitchell who was an added gem to a life long friendship that I will cherish always. Carolyn was blessed with a brilliant political science mind...one day I visited her thirty plus years ago. She excitedly told me she was reading, "The Isis Papers", by Cress Welsing. I acquired my copy three years ago. I then fully appreciated her enthusiasm about the book. She was always on top of literary and political thought as it related to social progress. Carolyn Jasper Mitchell was one of a kind, sweet, thoughtful and brilliant. Rest in His care Sistuh. Always, Joyce Black Coffey
My condolences to Carolyn Mitchell's family. She was a former co-worker for many years at the Richmond Department of Social Services and a fellow Trojan. May your memories give you comfort always.

My sincerest condolences to the family.🙏🏿
When I heard about the passing of Cousin Carolyn my heart was broken due to the fact it hurt so much to see so many of our family members are now gone...This generation of cousins taught us so much the Jaspers, Knights & Cousins...They taught us how to be a family and not only that we always called each other cousins whenever we will see each other...No more suffering Carolyn and may your soul Rest In Peace...Cherylene Edwards-Smith (Knight)
My sincere condolences to the Mitchell and Jasper families. I often think of those days we shared at Virginia State College, the fun, the laughter, oh yeah we did a little studying too.
