Mrs Melton was my 6th grade teacher at Chamberlayne Elementary School in 1974-1975. She was my favorite teacher of all times. This was a challenging year for me when my parents separated, and Mrs Melton was a kind and stable presence in my life during a turbulent time. I've thought about her many times throughout the years. Linda, Dorothy & Family, My sincere condolences to you all. She and I served on the Henrico Preservation Advisory & she always introduced me as her cousin. We often teased each other about our sorority membership. I was really surprised when she showed up at the new Fairfield Library opening in October a year ago. She loved talking about family history. Oh, no! I am sooo sad and send my sincerest condolences to the family of Charlotte Melton. I taught at Laburnum when she was there and have had the additional privilege to work with her in our retiree association (HRSPA) and at the Christmas Mother activities.
