DuBois Lamar Jackson passed away peacefully in New York City, on March 6, 2022, after a long courageous battle with cancer. DuBois was born July 28, 1970, to John T. Jackson and Christine Player Jackson in Richmond, Virginia. He was baptized at Cedar Street Memorial Baptist Church of God in 1978 and was a member of the junior usher board.
After DuBois graduated from Hermitage High School in 1988, he went on to study at Howard University in Washington, DC. He lived and worked in Washington, DC for several years before relocating to Manhattan, New York, where he worked in the real estate industry. Throughout his career, DuBois was able to travel the world extensively, including memorable visits to China, Japan, Portugal, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Hawaii, to name a few. He even ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
DuBois was his happiest when traveling and experiencing new cultures and new people. When not traveling internationally, he loved any and everything New York. He loved New York’s energy, festivals, parades, and especially the New York Jets. Through his love of photography, he captured his travels and the art and personality of the city.

Jackson (Peggy) and Christine Player Jackson; sister, Felicia Jackson-Taylor; brother-in-law Ivan G. Taylor; step-sister, Natalie Swift; nephew, Jordan M. Taylor; niece, Alana N.
