We love you Sam!
Sam: I am just hearing of your passing my friend. Our friendship began on Fairfield Avenue back in the early seventies as we all played double deck pinochle for bragging rights.
Our friendship endured the years of time and distance. Peace be with you my brother. Michael Brown
I was sadden to hear of Sam's passing. Ive know him for many years. When I was in nursing school, struggling and wanted to quit he always reminded me " you can't get out of school if you not in it". Always with that smile and Encouraging words. Rest In Peace my friend. Carolyn Taylor & Family.
Rest in peace old friend, my condolences to the family. Carolyn Prentis
Mr. Gladden was for many our first Coach. He instilled fearlessness in us along with fair play and integrity. Mr. Gladden was Bill Robinson playground. White helmets and white tee shirts is what we played in. My team won back to back football championships and in two years we didn't lose a game! Man he taught us a lot. He accepted us as children and taught us as men. Rest in Heaven Mr. Gladden. A personal thank you sir. Many of your young people made it. We are men, husbands, fathers, grandfathers and sir, your teachings helped us. Job well done sir. You were a true warrior!
Coach Gladden showed us he cared and how to conduct ourselves. He led us to be our best on the field as the Bill Robinson Playground Baseball Team, even to playing the Tuckahoe Little League World Series finalists, and to be our best off the field in achieving our goals. We'll never forget him. Our sincere condolences to you, the Family, and we'll always be with you in thanking God for him. -Lefty Tony Johnson
