Theresa E. Taylor – Lambert, was born June 5, 1951, in Richmond Virginia to the late Major Taylor Jr. and Louise Gerst Taylor. She departed this life, Saturday, May 20, 2023. Theresa grew up in Richmond, Virginia and attended John Marshall High School, graduate of the class of 1969. She also attended VCU. Theresa worked for Richmond Public Schools for 40 years in the Head Start Program. She loved working with children and was an inspiration to many. Theresa was grounded in her faith. She was a member of Triumphant Baptist Church and Trinity Baptist Church where she enjoyed worshipping. Upon retirement, St. Paul’s Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia became her church home. During her leisure time, she loved shopping and spending time with her family and friends. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her two children, son, Kelvin Taylor (Shalema), daughter, Britney Lambert; eight grandchildren, N'Dea Pulliam, Bryson L. Taylor, Kemaih Brown, Kaylen Brown, Kani Brown, Zaria Hicks, Loren Hicks, and Taniya Alston, sister- in- law, Diana Taylor (Major, deceased) and a host of relatives and friends. Theresa was a principled woman of integrity always in search of the truth. In her final years, she deeply contemplated her faith, and she came full circle in her beliefs and recommitted herself to Christ. She will be remembered for all the love she shared with her friends and family. She truly treasured each of them and if you knew her, you knew it. She was a beautiful person inside and out, whose smile brightened any room. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before her. Her caring, kind spirit will be forever missed, but not forgotten. She was planted on Earth to bloom in heaven and will remain in our hearts until we meet again. I will surely miss my friend Theresa. My last visit with her was so much fun. We talked for hours because she wanted to know about everyone at the Head Start Office. May the family find comfort that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
