Obituary For I John Office
The funeral services for the late Mr. I John Office, who departed this life on Thursday, July 9, 2026, will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Turner County Civic Center in Ashburn, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. I John Office was born on November 22, 1954, in Ashburn Georgia to Mr. And Mrs. Willie C and Mae Lizzie Beckhom Office. From an early age, he developed the strong work ethic, quiet strength, and humble spirit that would define the way he lived his life. He raised three children and was a devoted family man.
John began his career at Eureka and continued his service when the campus transitioned to the new Turner County High School. While working more than 35 years with the Turner County Board of Education, John became a respected leader within the Facilities and Maintenance Department and mentored many employees who came through the department. His areas of expertise included floor care and restoration, carpet maintenance, building maintenance, and a wide range of skilled facility operations. Beyond his career with the school system, John was also an entrepreneur and owner of Office Cleaning Service, where he provided professional cleaning and floor care services for city buildings, commercial businesses, and retail establishments. Whether working for the school system or for his own business, John took great pride in every task, earning the respect of those who knew the quality of his work.
The Lord called John home on July 9, 2026, while he was at home surrounded by his family. He was at peace and resting in the Lord. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Frances Office; his parents, the late Willie C. Office and Mae Lizzie Office; his brothers, Melvin Office and Carl Office; a niece and a nephew.
John leaves to cherish his memories his children, Terrell (Tessa) Wilson, Shedric Office, both of Ashburn, GA, Latoya (Edward) Benton of Atlanta, GA; his goddaughter, Andrea Pierce; his grandchildren, Keshawn Nelson, Ontario Wilson, Jr., Olivia Wilson, Xariah Office, Zakiyah Office, Jaylasia Office, Emari Benton, Emili Benton, Embri Benton; his great grandson, Tylan Wilson; his sisters, Laverne (James) Troutman, Patricia Office, both of Ashburn, GA, Linda (Joseph) Vaughn of Tifton, GA; his brothers, Richard Office, Willie James Office, both of Ashburn, GA, Willie (Mary) Office of Tifton, GA, Lester (Gail) Office of Sanford, FL, Joe L. (Yvonne) Johnson of Riviera Beach, FL; a special friend, Lovey Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

Today, our hearts are heavy as we honor and celebrate the remarkable life of I John Office. While words can never fully ease the pain of losing someone so dear. I pray they bring comfort, peace and hope during this difficult time.
I John was the kind of person whose life spoke louder than words. He was humble, selfless and compassionate. A man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He never asked what he would gain in return because his heart was simply wired to serve others. If someone was in need, I John was there. If someone was hurting, he offered encouragement. If someone needed support, he gave it freely. His generosity was not for recognition but because that was the character of the man he was.
The true measure of a person's life is not found in the wealth they accumulate but in the lives they touch. I John leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, generosity and service that will continue to live in each person he helped and every heart he inspired.
To my Godsister, my God brothers and the entire family please know that you are surrounded by love and covered in prayer. May God strengthen you when your hearts feel weak, comfort you when the tears begin to fall and grant you God perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Lean on Him in the days ahead, for God has promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Although we mourn I John's absence, we also celebrate the beautiful life he lived. We celebrate the countless smiles he created, the burdens he helped carry, the lives he uplifted and the unconditional love he shared. His earthly journey may have ended but his legacy of compassion and generosity will never be forgotten.
The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." And in John 14:27, Jesus says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you." May those promises wrap around your family today and in the days to come.
As we say goodbye to I John, let us not only remember how he lived, but let us strive to live as he did with humility, generosity, compassion, and love for others. That is one of the greatest ways we can honor his memory.
May God's love surround this family. May His strength sustain you. May His peace calm your hearts. And in time, may the precious memories of I John bring more smiles than tears, more gratitude than grief and more joy than sorrow.
I John fought the good fight. He loved well. He served faithfully. And because of that, his life will forever remain a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

This Brother was definitely a family Man who welcomed my Grandmother in his home when ever she came to Ashburn to visit the family and he made my Grandmother the happiest Eye ever saw her when he and his wife and children came to N.C. to visit.May The Most High God YHWH comfort his family during these times
