On Saturday, February 18, 2023 God saw the need to call Lt. Col. Joshua Davis home to rest. Joshua entered this world on September 9, 1941 to the proud parents of Mr. Nolton Davis and Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor-Davis. He was reared with the support of a loving family.
Joshua attended the public schools of Calhoun County and graduated from John Ford H.S. and later obtained his Bachelor's degree from South Carolina State University. He also served as Worship Master of Olive Grove Lodge #477, PHA Mason, Inspector General (GIG) of Robert Shaw Wilkinson Consistory 220, and Illustrious Potentate of Jeddah Temple 160.

Reverend Joe Nathan Brown 32 Belmont Parkway Hempstead, N.Y. 11550 516-486-5201 jnb32@netscape.net February 24, 2023 The DavisFamilies:
I greet you with the joy of Jesus. Surely this is the day that the Lord has made, we must rejoice and be glad in it. On behalf of my family and the Class of 1960 of John Ford High School, we celebrate with you the Home-going our your relative. The Lord blessed Lt. Cor. Joshua Davis with a long and productive life. The journey that he traveled is not unique nor is it exclusive. We are destined to travel the same road. We thank God for his life and his legacy. There is now a void in your heart, but there is a solution. There is one who will fill that place of emptiness and loneliness. Jeremiah 8:22 Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people? The Balm Of God's Love by M.S.Lowndes When we lose someone we love The loss seems too great to bear God sends us friends to comfort us To show that He deeply cares
But in the dark hours of the night When there's nobody else around When we feel the saddest and loneliest It's there God's love can be found
It's like a soothing, healing balm To soothe our broken hearts The healing oil poured over us That flows into every part
We can rest secure in God's love And know He's by our side He holds us when we feel as though A part of us has died
We can know that God will listen When we just want to talk And when we feel we need to cry We can share it with the Lord
For He is always waiting there Ready with arms open wide As we pour out the hurt within He pours His love inside
Our Father above loves us so much And will never leave us alone He will not forsake us in our need To face this on our own
He comforts us and strengthens us And rubs us with His balm And as the dawn breaks through the night We'll awake in His loving arms. Yes, there is a balm in Gilead that will provide healing for our souls, healing for our heartaches, healing for our hurts, healing for our sadness, healing for our souls. Jesus is the balm, Jesus is the healer, and Jesus is the restorer of our joy. Psalm 30:5b weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Joy, joy, joy comes in the morning. God bless you all.
Sincerely, Joe N. Brown President of the Class of 1960 of John Ford High School Associate Minister of Saint Matthew's Community AME Church of Hollis, NY
