MR. JAMES THOMAS LEDBETTER, lovingly known to many as โJames Boyโ peacefully departed this life a day before his 65th birthday, Thursday, April 30, 2026, while a patient at Atrium Health-Pineville, North Carolina. He is now singing in the Heavenly Choir with his family and many friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, May 9, 2026, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow the service at Westview Memorial Park, Polklton, North Carolina.
The Ledbetter Family will greet family and friends on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 12:30-1:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
The public viewing will be on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 1:00-5:00pm at Smitg's Funeral Home.

Memory : Six young men in a crib , we had fun and game together stayed up until twelve o ' clock and too am knowing that we had to prime tobacco that morning at five . James didn't like the idea of getting his hand gummy and in his hair so we had to show him the ropes wish I could tell you the hold story . We work in the tobacco for three summer then we went our way . Sometime down the road we met again this time on the "" Level and Part on the Square ."" after them we always meet on the Square I will miss him sing those songs from zion . BRO : ERNEST PEGUES
I recall on many occasions to hear James sing as part of Solid Rock ,rest now
I remember we sang together and sat beside one another at a funeral one time at Smith Chapel. You will be missed. Rest up you earned your wings.
