As the shock of Warren's passing subsides, I have reflected on our friendship that grew over the past years. We bonded over common losses in our lives, our advancing years and our faith and hope for what is ahead in eternity. I so looked forward to my daily 2nd floor mailroom searches that led to my daily conversations and laughter with Warren. In the weight of eternity, the love he had for others has much greater value than we can now imagine. I know he heard, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Mr. Warren was a joy, just from his smile at 525 Vine. He had a way of making you feel like you were seen. Prayers for his family and friends. Continue to sleep in peace.
Warren was one of my favorite parts of coming to work everyday at 525 Vine at Wake Forest. We had many great conversations about sports and life. Recently when I was scared to become a first-time father with my daughter arriving the next month (December 2024), Warren put all my fears to rest as only he could with that big smile "It will be awesome". He will be dearly missed by me and all of my coworkers. I wish your family peace and happiness and want to say that you raised and loved a great man. The candle is yellow for Warren's beloved Golden State Warriors.
Mr. Warren easily made challenging school days better with his kind smile and words of encouragement. He was always checking in to see how the students and staff were doing. He even went out of his way to learn just about everyone's name. He will be deeply missed by the school community that he meant so much to. I am praying for your family. My deepest condolences.
My deepest condolences to Warren's family. He was such a bright spot in our life at 525@Vine, and his absence is felt daily. It was a joy to get to know him in the short 18 months our time at Vine overlapped. His smile, his good-natured teasing, and above all, his noticing of each and every person and remembering their names spoke volumes about how he valued the people in his path. I am grateful for the privilege of knowing him.

I was saddened to hear of Warren's passing. According to the scriptures, Soon no one will die. At Isaiah 25:8 states: He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, For Jehovah himself has spoken it.
Warren had been a friend and colleague for close to 10 years at the 525 Vine in Winston-Salem. We shared lunches and conversation. He loved his family, and his extended "family"@525. He was mostly happy with his Golden State B ballers and not so much regarding his Cowboys. He loved Montgomery County and the homestead. He tried so diligently to work on his health post his heart surgery, kept a diary on his vitals. But he is home now, not in pain and at peace. My condolences to the Steele family and Warren thank you for your friendship. Sincerely, Russ
Warren's heart was full of love. My deepest sympathies to his family. I will truly miss seeing his face every day at school!

I am deeply saddened to hear of Warren's passing. Warren had a way of making everyone feel welcome, and I will forever cherish the kindness he showed me when I first joined Wake. His smile, warm heart, and infectious laugh brightened even the most ordinary days. I will miss our banter, and especially the playful moments when I would tease him about walking up the flights of stairs with me after I'd forgotten my office card, so he could help me back into the office suites.
Even my little one adored him, a true testament to the light he brought into every room. In the short time I knew him, Warren made such an impact on my life, and I can hardly believe he's gone. Just last Monday, he was telling me about Martin Luther King Jr., and I was looking forward to talking more when I returned from my conference trip...but I never got that chance.
I know Warren is now resting in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. My heart aches, but I take comfort in knowing we will meet again. Rest well, Brother Warren...You will be missed, but never forgotten.
Love and Light, Chi Udeh-Momoh (525 Vine street)
Every day, Warren welcomed us with a warm smile and was always up for a quick chat. He was a genuinely good guy, and he's going to be deeply missed.
It is an honor to say I worked with Warren. Warren was a wonderful, caring person. Every time I signed keys out, he had a warm smile. He knew everyone's name. My children, Clare and James remembered him too and were sad to hear that he is in heaven. Warren will be greatly missed. My prayers to the family for God's peace. Kari Maddox

Warren will be so missed by everyone at 525@Vine. He welcomed each of us with a smiling face and proudly wore our office's WS pin on his uniform. We were all devastated to hear the news that we lost our friend.
I had the pleasure of knowing Warren through work. He showed up, knew everyone's name, and brought joy to our space daily. He was as much a part of our work family as any other team member-- he is deeply missed.
Warren I'm lost for words. I went out of town for the weekend to Vegas and was so ready to get back to work to show pictures and tell you all about my trip like I always do. Who am I to talk to about my children, cooking, work, just life in general. These past two years you have helped me get through work and I've come up to make sure you got through the day smooth as well. I will never forget these past 2 years with you. Felt like I gained another family member. You will truly be missed may you rest now.
My deepest condolences to the Steele family.

James and I send our sincere condolences to Warren's family. Warren has been a friend for over a decade. I miss our chats every day - particularly the Angel Reese vs. Caitlyn Clark non-beef. The sun is shining, and the wind rushes by -- and that's free for everyone rich or poor.

Mr. Steele always had a quick smile and something warm and friendly to say to me when I'd walk by his desk. He would stop me to ask what I'd gotten for lunch and would provide feedback on how good it was going to taste. I'll miss the sparkle in his eye and the care he shared with all.
