My cousin Ann. We didn't see each other often but when we did, we would share laughter of things we remembered during our youth. I grew up in Taylortown (Pinehurst) east of Troy, but Sundays were family visit days back then. Ann Lived in Taylortown for a while when she was teaching school close by, and all my friends would talk about my beautiful cousin. I would think, "I'm the luckiest guy alive."

A woman has lived well whose memory is met with a smile, whose laughter is recalled like the lyrics of a favorite song or the warmth of an embrace, whose family recalls her legacy with a sense of pride, whose friends are better for having known her, and whose community is a better place because she was there. My Cousin Ann made made so many unforgettable memories of my childhood growing up in Troy. She gave my sister and I the pleasure of her vivacious personality, introduced us to great music, and danced with us for hours on her sun porch. She was pure joy with a contagious smile and laughter. Her love of education and children continued throughout her adult years as an educator and Montgomery County School Board member.
