Patricia Ann Richardson-Drummond was born August 18, 1954 in Fort Pierce, Florida, St. Lucie County, to the parents of Dothan Richardson, Jr., and Mae Pearl Lee Richardson. She was the first child of five children. Pat, as she was affectionately called, accepted Christ at an early age.
Pat attended F. K. Sweet Elementary and Garden City Elementary Schools and Fort Pierce Central Central High School, graduating in 1972. After graduating, she attended The Great Bethune-Cookman College/University in Daytona Beach Florida, where she majored in Elementary Education. Pat began her teaching career in 1975 at Lawnwood Elementary School in Fort Pierce, Florida. She later received a Master’s Degree from Nova University in Education. She later transferred to Lincoln Park Academy in 1999 as a middle school Language Arts teacher. She was a stern and loving teacher who cared deeply for her students. In 2006, Pat retired from the St. Lucie County School District after a 31-year stellar career. She thoroughly enjoyed being retired and enjoyed the company of her “Retired Friends” group who met regularly at each other’s homes.
Pat has been married to Kenneth Drummond since December 1991 and to this union they were blessed with one son, Javan Drummond. At an early age, she joined the old Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church on 11th Street, under the leadership of Elder S. P. Kilpatrick and served in the choir and other auxiliaries in the church. She later joined Goodwill Presbyterian Church for a short time when her son was young. Pat moved her membership back to Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Charles Hendley where she served faithfully until her passing. She served in Choir #1 and on the Pastor’s Aid Committee. She loved her church and her family, and enjoyed worshiping the Lord and good singing. Pat was a great cook and catered events on the Treasure Coast and in Palm Beach. Pat was a giving person and always one to help when a need arose. She, along with her friend and catering partner, Ruth McGill, would prepare meals at their own expense and deliver them to elderly and sick members of the community in need of a good hot meal.
In addition to her love of cooking, Pat loved SHOPPING and DRESSING!! She had a knack of putting an outfit together with all the Bling and Accessories that produced a well put-together look that garnered rave compliments everywhere she went.
Pat was an active/ founding member of the Fort Pierce Bethune-Cookman College/University Alumni Association, serving many years as President. She was also an active member of the Fort Pierce Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., initiated in the Spring of 1998. She has served as Treasurer and Financial Secretary and on numerous committees of her Beloved Sorority. She was also a member of the Treasure Coast Chapter of Jack and Jill of America since 1994 and was currently enjoying the status of Associate Jewel with a 20+ years of Life Membership. With the passing of time, the grief remains, but in some supernatural way, grief is no match for the caldron of precious memories that will endure over time. Blessings to you Javan and family. My sweet Soror was undeniably a woman of great class who in turn was and remains a blessing to every life she touched in her daily walk. Blessings to you all as she was truly amazing and dearly loved by all. To God be the Glory and even in this moment of transition, we can be steadfast in declaring that "It is well".

Ken, Javan and family, may memories of Pat comfort you during this difficult time of bereavement. Pat was a very close friend and confidant since childhood. We shared so many memories from playing hopscotch in the street, going to the beach, stringing popcorn for her family's Christmas tree, and rehearsing for church programs. Some of our most exciting memories were at Bethune-Cookman! I was always getting her back to the dorm later than curfew. When I moved to Oklahoma for graduate school, she helped me drive; neither of us realized how far it was and how hot we would get driving a car with no air conditioner! Pat was always just a call or text away; she had so much style and kept her friends laughing with her witty remarks. I will always hold memories of her close in my heart. May we all find comfort in knowing she is at peace in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sincere condolences, Jocelyn (Smith), Clarence, JessiKa and Joilyn McCarver - Tulsa, OK.
My beautiful beloved Bethune-Cookman College Class of 1976 classmate. We were Elementary Ed. Students and took classes together. We followed similar paths as retired teachers, Jack and Jill moms, Devine 9 sisters (DST-AKA). My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. Elaine Sledge Saffold Tampa, Fl
