I met Momma Mitchell when her son (AJ) was one of my roommates at Troy. I remember we were good college broke and hungry. AJ's mom called to check in and he told her what we had gotten into. A few minutes later, AJ got a call back saying "Y'all go to Little Caesars and pick up some pizza". That's the first time I got to know her hospitality and love for her family. Over the years she would always be one of the first to comment on different accomplishments, family updates, and really become like a mother. I'm praying for the Mitchell family and will truly miss Momma Mitchell

My deepest sympathy for your loss. May God strengthen and comfort the family during this difficult time.🙏🏽 Sharlene
I first met Renee in 2021 during a difficult time for my husband and me, when my sister-in-law, Lynn Dawkins-Kennedy, fell ill. Even in those uncertain moments, I could instantly see the light of God in her. Renee carried such a gentle, kind, and spiritually filled presence that it was impossible not to feel comforted in her company.
Though our meeting came from circumstances I wish were different, it was truly an honor to have crossed paths with someone whose spirit shined so brightly. Hearing of her passing broke my heart, and I'm still deeply saddened by the loss. Sometimes I don't understand why God calls home the sweetest souls so soon; but I trust that He knows best. And now, He gets to spend His time with her.
Rest peacefully, Renee. Your kindness left an imprint, and your spirit will never be forgotten. I will continue to keep your family, especially your children, in my prayers; asking God to surround them with strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.
With love Shalisa & David Dawkins
