Ms. Nachaea Danielle Hammond, 45, of Columbus, GA passed Sunday, October 1, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Revelation Baptist Church with Rev. Valerie Thompson, pastor and Pastor NaTasha S. Rockmore of Refuge Church International, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2023 from 12-5 p.m. EST.
Nachaea Danielle Hammond, known to most as "Nicky", was born to Sammie and Michele Hammond in La Mesa, California, on May 19, 1978, the eldest of two children. She was a 1996 graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama and continued her education at Chattahoochee Valley Community College and the University of West Alabama.
Nicky worked diligently as a Manager with Elevance Health (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) for many years, mentoring many to aspire to excellence in the pursuit of professional development during the course of the provision of exemplary customer service.
Nicky rededicated her life to the Messiah as a young adult, and has served with faithfulness and great tenacity, from a young child to adulthood, in numerous capacities in various churches, (Grace Missionary Baptist Church in California, Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Franchise Missionary Baptist Church, Love Life Ministries, in Alabama, and Cathedral of Prayer COGIC, ReVamp Church and finally, Refuge Church International in Columbus, Georgia.) She also supported the ministries of many others, wherever needed. Her ministry work included participating in children's, youth and adult choirs, praise teams, serving as Worship Leader, Church Administrator, Teacher and Minister. Nicky served with her whole heart and loved her Refuge Church International Pastor and church family.
Nicky loved her parents and her sister, Dee Dee, her best friend, and spending time with them at home, traveling and worshipping together. An addition to the family included her godson, Carlton Tynes IV, whom she loved dearly. Above all, she loved the Most High and shared her faith wherever and with whomever she could. Her heartfelt desire until the day she left this world to be in the presence of the Most High was for her family and friends to be saved.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Sammie and Lizzie Hammond, and Curtis and Lula Scott.
She will be forever cherished in memory by her devoted parents, Sammie and Michele Hammond, her loving sister, Dominique Hammond, her loving aunt, Curtessa (Anthony) Smith, her godson, Carlton Tynes IV and his mother, Antonia Angel Colon, her uncle, Cary (Sabrina) Hammond, her pastor, Pastor NaTasha S. Rockmore and her Refuge church family, as well as a myriad of cousins, other relatives, co-workers and friends.

Ms. Nikki!!!!!! I am at a loss for words. I was just a teenager and young adult when I met you. I never told you how powerful and beautiful you were to me. Just beautiful inside and out. Your voice changed this world if you didn't know that!!! I have had many experiences with church in my life but being with you and Brandon were some of the best spiritual memories I could have ever gotten. I appreciate you for who you were and I knew you're up there singing and shocking heavy with your beauty. Your spirit was too pure for this world anyway. I pray you're smiling that beautiful smile and resting. Goodbye Nikki!!!! I'm so glad I got a chance to know you in this life and I wish I had taken better advantage as an adult. I'll always carry your songs and energy with me!!!

I was at a loss of words when I heard the news of her passing. I remember the times when we sung with "The Inspirational Mass Choir". She had such a beautiful singing voice and a loving spirit. I will miss her smile and caring spirit. May God continue to Bless her Family. Rest with the Angels: Joyce Patterson from the Nichols Chapel Family.
My heart is still broken, and I am so lost for words. I was so blessed to have you a part of my life. It is not going to be the same without you at Anthem. I think you for always letting me a part of your team. You made me feel so special when you would not go to another line of business without taking me with you. And also trusting me to be your Operations Expert for so many years. I also want to say thank you to your family for allowing you to be a part of my life and the teams life. You will truly be missed. I love you, Miss Nicky!! Your family will stay in my prayers.
Ms Nikki I am at a loss for words at this time! I send my sincere condolences to your family! You was a sweet soul and gave chances because you knew the potential that I had when you hired me at Anthem! I will truly miss your sweet presence and spirit and the love you gave unselfishly!
May the work she's done, speak for her. It is with both sadness and gladness that I pen these words. My gladness is because she is with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and sadness because her loved ones and her community have lost such a loving person. Mickey, Sammy, Dee Dee, Bonnie, may God continue to wrap His arms around all of you. Trust in God and lean not to your own understanding. With sympathy,Constance Tarver Dodson, Ph.D.

As Team Nicky, we still stand and remain as one and "Team Nicky" we will always be! We are hurting and grieving in our own ways, but we also can laugh and say that we had some good times, and we will forever have some of the best memories and kind words from her in our hearts. She holds a spot there that no other can ever fill. We thank you for allowing her to be a part of our lives even in her final days whether you knew they were coming or not. She spent a lot of time with us, and we appreciate each and every minute we had.
Now we will keep her alive in our hearts and memory as we go through each day, still being Team Nicky and in her words Let's do this "Beast mode"!

Miss Nicky, you are a tremendous gift to every single person that has gotten to meet you. You had such a talent for meeting someone on their level, for making a connection with them that made them feel like they mattered. You have graced my life with so much kindness and understanding, it has left such a positive impression on me, even with your loss that I feel to my very core, your positivity is radiant still. But heaven couldn't wait. And now you will be able to do anything you want without limitations and those that you love, and love you, will still be taken care.
