Eugene Scott and Mary Lee (neé Williams) Scott welcomed the first of their five sons on January 9, 1956, in Talladega, Alabama. He was given the name Robert Eugene. He would later be joined by Billy, Lamont, Anthony and Kenneth.
Robert was a lifelong member of Belview Missionary Baptist Church. He was educated in the Talladega City Schools having attended Westside and Talladega High School. He was employed as a technician with ATAP for many years. Robert enjoyed playing baseball, tailgating, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide and was a self-proclaimed grill master. He would often profess that his BBQ was the best you would ever taste and guaranteed to fall off the bone. He was a member of the 26th St. Christmas Savings Club. On February 2, 2023, he and the former Robin M. Garrett were united in holy matrimony.
Robert’s love and infectious smile will be missed by his loving wife, Robin Scott; three children, Andrea (Steven) Groce, Stacy Phillips and Corlis Pope (Tra’Nike Braxton); sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Lamont (Tonya) Scott and Anthony (Marilyn) Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Robert began quietly began his eternal journey on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 7, 2023, with his family by his side. He was preceded on this road to eternity by his parents, Eugene and Mary Lee Scott; two brothers, Billy Scott and Kenneth Scott; and a granddaughter, Kiara S. Chatman.

With our deepest sympathies, Louise "Sis" Jordan and Family
To the family of Mr. Robert Scott, please accepted our condolences over your loss. I know that this is grievous time for all who knew Robert. Death was not part of God purpose, death was only mentioned with regard to disobedience (Read Genesis 2:7,15-17). Jesus said there will be a resurrection of the dead in the near future (Read John 5;28,29)
My deepest condolences to my cousin Robin, and the Scott family.
You will always be in our prayers. May you find comfort in knowing earth has no sorrow that heaven ca n not hea l. Rest in peace my friend. I'll always remember the good times that out weighed the bad and with that I WON'T COMPLAIN! Yvonne Estell-McELDERRY
