We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Obinna “Obi” Izuchi “Izzy” Onwuzurike, who tragically suddenly left us on November 7, 2024. Obi was the youngest and only son among four siblings. He was a cherished member of our family, who brought immense joy and strength into our lives. Throughout his life, Obi faced numerous challenges, yet he met each one with unwavering determination and resilience, emerging stronger every time. His ability to triumph over adversity was a testament to his character and spirit.
Obi was eagerly looking forward to starting a new chapter in his life with his beautiful fiancée, Chisom Igwe, whom he was set to marry next month. Their love and dreams of building a family together were a source of great happiness and anticipation.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Eugene and Stella Onwuzurike, who cherished him deeply, his devoted sisters, Adanna Onwuzurike, Ahunna Freeman, Akunna Akuruka, his niece and nephews, brother-in-law Scottie Freeman, numerous cousins, uncles, aunties, friends and colleagues - all of whom will forever hold him close in their hearts. Obi's legacy of love, perseverance, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew him. His absence is profoundly felt, but his memory will live on in the heart of those who loved him. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Obi was a real one, he was a man of his words, he had a vision and followed all the steps to achieve it.we met in Montgomery,Alabama and we became brothers,we felt each other pains and made a decision to make it right. Aferwards Alabama, we were in Atlanta together and stayed in touch. I remember his last words when we spoke earlier this month, he said "bro you must come naija for my wedding,I need u there by my side". I love u bro. May ur gentle soul rest in perfect peace. My condolences to his ever suporting parents and family members.
Although obinna was my cousin , he became my big brother. I was obinna little sister. We would have so many conversation at home about faith, life and more. Obinna was very hard working and was always seeking after truth. He was so honest with me and I always appreciated that. Our intellectual conversation always made me think about life alittle hard it. Obi always made me laugh. Obinna had so many goals he wanted to obtain but obinna received the ultimate goal which is heaven and I couldn't be more proud of him for that. It amazes me how God strategically allowed me to see you back to back the way I did. Obi, thank you for the laughs , the conversation and the tight hugs . I love you to the moon and back . This is not good bye for I know within my heart u are in a better place . We will meet again 🤍
Obi was a good man, brother and friend. Admired him for his resolve and overcoming spirit. Sad to know his spirit is now at peace and rest with the Lord so soon. He will not be forgotten.
All that had the honor to know Izzy, will always understand what I am about to say. He listened to my pain in my darkest hour, he watched my tears flow. He waited and sat with me in the pain. He offered a light to better days only after he had touched what I was feeling. He did not judge, he helped. Thank you to the family that gave this wonderful man to the world. My deepest condolences for your loss.
