Mr. Clarence Anthony Mack was born on April 1, 1941 in Barnesville, Lamar County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Joe Mack, Sr. and the late Adelphia Juanita Grays Mack.
Clarence received his education in the Lamar County School System, where he attended Booker High School. After making the decision to give his life to Christ, he joined the Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Barnesville, GA. He was united in holy matrimony to Jacquelyn Jackson Mack.
Clarence was always industrious. He was employed at Aldora Mills in Barnesville, GA for many years before becoming employed with the William Cater Company. While there, he also accepted a position with Lindsey Transportation, where he expedited the delivery of mail from surrounding cities to the postal hub in Atlanta, GA. He would ultimately become gainfully employed with Davenport Transportation/DT Express in Blairsville, GA, where he worked for numerous years until his health began to fail. Even then, he started a lawncare service maintaining a number of clients in the local areas.
Clarence enjoyed the simple things in life. His favorite hobbies included horseback riding and restoring antique cars. He loved all things western, which was evidenced by his wardrobe of boots and hats. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in any manner necessary.
On Tuesday, September 10, 2019, Clarence traded his boots and hats for a set of wings. After a brief stay at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, GA, he transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal resting place. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Mack, Jr.; two sisters, Juanita Annette Sullivan and Joan Mitchell; and a special friend, Martha Crawley.
Memories of Clarence will be cherished by his family to included his wife, Jacquelyn J. Mack of Griffin, GA; two daughters, Deborah N. (Paul) Walker of Barnesville, GA, and Teresa Holloway of Griffin, GA; three grandchildren, Alexander (Cortese) Walker of Kathleen, GA, Shanquaneta (Quentin) Dukes and Ashley (Richard) Vereen of Barnesville, GA; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin (Jorgen) Mack of Decatur, GA; a sister, Sylvia (Clarence) Lindsey of East Point, GA; a special niece, Betty A. Hill of Barnesville, GA; a special cousin, Harry Williams of Warner Robins, GA; life long friends, Shelia Lender, Donnie Edge, and Robert Davis; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
