Mr. Douglas Traylor, more affectionately known as “Buck Traylor” and “Dough,” was born on April 20, 1938, to the late Mrs. Patsy Pennyman Traylor and the late Mr. Rozie Traylor, Sr. in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia.
He was educated in the public school of Upson County. When he reached young adult age, he went to work doing whatever his hands found he could do to help support the family.
He was formerly married to the late Mrs. Etheline Davis Traylor. To this union six children were born. To support his family, he found employment on the dairy farm. He was a good worker and was faithful to his job.
During his leisure time, he enjoyed working, especially yard work. He enjoyed being with family and friends and eating. His favorite meal was fried chicken and his favorite drink was coca cola.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, Willie James Traylor, Charlie Fred Traylor, Rozie Traylor, Jr. and Willie Albert Traylor; one sister, Jennie Lee Fexton. On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the Lord called his name. He answered the call and went home to rest. He will be greatly missed by his family who loved him dearly.
He is survived by six children, Douglas Traylor, Jr., Cherry Marie Traylor, Lizzie Mae Traylor, Shelia Mae Traylor, Nancy Marie Traylor, all of Thomaston, GA and Mrs. Patricia Ann (Edward) Lucas of The Rock, GA; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Ms. Laura Mae Pennyman of Thomaston, GA; local niece and nephews, Mrs. Vickie Traylor Perdue, Kendarious Pennyman, Steve Traylor, Carter Lee Davis, Lynn Pennyman, Curtis (Doris) Traylor, Freddie Davis and Deon Pennyman; several other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
