Mrs. Georgia Mae Gray Ellerbee was born on July 1, 1942 in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia to the late Mrs. Aldine Stinson Gray and the late Mr. M.C. Gray. Georgia was educated in the Upson County School System and attended the Thomaston Training School. At an early age, she joined the Rising Star Baptist Church. She attended regularly until her health begin to failed. She loved going to church and hearing the preaching of the word of God. During her womanhood, Georgia met and married Mr. Dence Ellerbee. Their union was blessed with two children. She loved her family dearly. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She possessed a quiet and gentle spirit. During her leisure time, Georgia enjoyed going to church, taking her mother fishing, spending time with her family, cooking, and simply enjoying life. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin Gray; and her dog, Shug. On Friday, June 11, 2021, the Lord called her name; she answered the call and went home to eternal rest. She will be greatly lovingly miss by her children and the rest of her family. Georgia leaves to cherish her memory; two children, Vincent Lamar (Teresa) Ellerbee and Yvonne Ellerbee of Thomaston, GA; six grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ms. Gracie Gray, Ms. Gloria “Molly” Gray and Mrs. Dorothy (Calvin) Pennyman all of Thomaston, GA; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Geraldine Gray of Columbus, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
