John Thomas Hamm, Jr. was born March 12, 1935, in Barnesville, GA to the late John Thomas Hamm, Sr. and Sally Mae Hamm.
Growing up in Barnesville, John was fondly called Junior by family and friends. John was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was educated at Booker High School in Lamar County. There he met and married Carrie Dumas and welcomed Daughters Elaine and Brenda.
Junior worked as a painter and was relocated to Northern California and began working for Longs Drugs Store warehouse. There he met and married Mary Ann, and their marriage ended in divorce. Junior was single for a while and began dating and married Annie Brown- Bradford August 13, 1977, until her untimely death in 1987. Junior then was remarried to Lucela Cruz. Junior aka Cowboy and Lucela lived a life filled with love, laughter and unwavering devotion to their family and friends for 30+ years.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Hamm Sr., Sally Mae Hamm, wife Annie Myrtle Hamm, daughter Lynette Hamm, sisters Rosa (Joseph) Hudson, Johnnie Mae Tamplin, Annie Lou Bryant. Brothers Charlie Frank (Willard) Hamm, Willie Elmer Hamm, son in law Bruce C. Lacy; step grandson Gregory Collins.
John is survived by wife Lucela, daughters Elaine Hamm-Lacy and Brenda (Curtis Sr.) West. Sister Ollie Mae Barber, stepsons, Joey Aguigui, Wayne Aguigui, Kenneth Aguigui and stepdaughters Cheryl (Donald) Rollins, Doreen Aguigui-Collins. A host of grandson. granddaughters, cousins, nieces, nephews, great grandsons, great granddaughters; step grandsons, step granddaughters, relatives and friends.
