Machelle Holt-Walker was born on November 13, 1970, in Thomaston, GA. She attended Upson High School, where she graduated in 1988. She passed away on January 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family.
She was known as the best momma, wife, sister, cook, and counselor. Machelle was employed as a cook at Kelly’s Truck Stop, where her love for cooking and serving others was evident in everything she did. Her smile could light up a room, and she never met a stranger. She had a gentle spirit and a heart that reflected her closeness to God. Her faith guided how she loved, served, and cared for others, and she lived her life with kindness, grace, and compassion. Her love, wisdom, and nurturing spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbie Walker.
Machelle was the devoted wife of Dexter Walker, and a loving mother to Micktavious Holt, Matésja Daniel, Shakiedra Daniel, Willie Henry Daniel, Jr, and Ayanna Holt. She was a cherished sister to Mickey Holt, Marcus Holt, and Kimserley Marshall.
She was a proud grandmother to Shikiera Ellerbee, Zehkai Kyrie Daniel, ZeMari Kemon Daniel, Josiah Akins, and Mazi LonJae Holt, and a loving grand aunt to Royalty Watson, Braylee Atwater, and Joy Stubbs. She also shared a special bond with her nephew, Trayvan Stubbs.
Machelle is also survived by her brothers-in-law David (Melody) Walker and Alvin (Sherry) Walker; sisters-in-law Denise (Robert) Houston, Stacy Walker, and Mae (Willie) Little; daughter-in-law Jamee Akins, along with a host of extended family and friends.
