Mrs. Mary Carlisle Brown Weston was born on April 20, 1955, to the late Mrs. Gladys Adelle Walker Brown and the late Mr. Johnny Brown in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia.
Mary was educated in the public schools of Upson County and graduated from Upson High School with the Class of 1973. She later attended Upson Tech to increase her knowledge and skills in technology.
Mary was a faithful and dedicated member of New Lincoln Park A.M.E. Church. She served on the Usher’s Ministry and wherever she was needed. She loved Bible study and Sunday School and was present whenever she was not working.
She was devoted to the Pastor’s Anniversary and Church Anniversary, making sure they were well planned and observed. Most recently, she took on the responsibility of planning the Pastor’s Retirement Celebration.
Mary’s working career began in California at California First Bank as a technician. After returning to Georgia, she found employment at Quad Graphics and later worked with Options, the Sheriff’s Department, private-duty sitting, and lastly at West Village Retirement Community.
During her leisure time, she enjoyed shopping, eating out, traveling, photography, going to museums, spending time with children, working at her job and in the church, helping others in any way she could, encouraging others to make a difference, and keeping the peace with everyone.
Mary, known as Tootsie, Ms. Mary, Auntie, and Mary, was a devoted friend, sister, auntie, and cousin who lived her life with purpose, infectious joy, and deep compassion for others. She shared her love in both quiet and practical ways, always making sure that those she loved felt cared for. She was generous by nature, thoughtful in her actions, and deeply attentive to the needs of others. Mary loved the Lord and loved working in the church and community. She checked on everyone to make sure they were okay. She lived fully, loved deeply, and gave all she had. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Harvey Brown and James “Skeeter” Perry. On Monday, February 2, 2026, the Lord called her name. She answered, and her spirit took flight and returned to the Heavenly Father.
She leaves to cherish her memory her stepmother, Mrs. Vivian Brown; brothers, Mr. Johnnie Albert Brown, Mr. John (Debra) York, Jr., Mr. Jeffery (Jennifer) Little, Mr. Bobby Searcy and Pastor Ralph (Emma) Searcy, all of Thomaston, GA and Mr. Winfred (Nedra) York of Williamson, GA; sisters, Ms. Monica Woodring of Duluth, GA, Ms. Alisha Brown of Atlanta, GA, Ms. Barbara R.
