Obituary For Mildred Searcy Reeves

Mrs. Mildred Searcy Reeves, more affectionately known as “Ball,” was born on November 3, 1944 to Mrs. Fannie Lee Mathews Searcy and the late Mr. Tony Searcy in Butler, Taylor County, Georgia. She received her early education in Taylor County School System. After moving to Upson County, she attended Drake High School. During her early womanhood, she married and was the mother of three sons. To help raised her children she was employed by Thomaston Mills. She enjoyed working at the mill, babysitting, and spending time raising children. During her leisure time she enjoyed listening to music, especially old school music and the blues, working in the yard, and talking to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, one son, Phillip Reeves and one sister, Cherry Searcy Pickard. On Friday, December 13, 2019, the Lord call her home to rest. Her sudden departure has saddened the hearts of her family but her memory will live on in their hearts. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mrs. Fannie Lue Mathews Searcy; two sons, Mr. Henry (Lemika) Reeves, Jr. of Culloden, GA and Mr. Ronald (Valerie) Reeves of Powder Spring, GA; two grandsons, Mr. Joshua Reeves of Roberta, Ga and Mr. Raquel Reeves of Butler, GA; two great-grandchildren, Maryiah Hampton and Casey Moore, Jr.; five sisters: Mrs. Eunice Miller, Mrs. Margie (Fred) Ivey, Mrs. Linda Lue Sullivan all of Thomaston, GA, Mrs. Florine Goodard of Griffin, GA,and Mrs. Glenda Ojeda of Atlanta, GA; three brothers: Mr. Jimmy Searcy of Toledo, OH , Mr. Felton “Peter” (Tracie) Searcy of Thomaston, GA and Mr. Calvin (Phyllis) Searcy of Atlanta, GA; aunts and uncles include Mrs. Ruby Walker of Butler, GA, Mrs. Rosa Mae Carter, and Mr. Otis (Hattie) Mathews both of Thomaston, GA, Mr. James “JC” (Annie) Matthews, and Mr. Jessie “Willie” Matthews both of South Bend, IN, and Mrs. Frances Mathews of Cleveland , OH, a special niece and nephew, Laquasha Hutherson and Toby Daniely both of Thomaston, GA ; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Funeral Service were held Thursday, December 19, 2019 George E. Trice Jr Memorial Chapel Interment Lincoln Memorial Cemetery
