Mother Cleonia Traylor Walker was born on February 21, 1940, to the late Mrs. Lucy Worthy Traylor and the late Mr. Miles Traylor in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. She was raised in the Logtown Church, where she was taught the Word of God. At Logtown, she sang in the choir and was very active in her church.
She was educated in the public schools of Upson County and later earned her GED, an accomplishment she was very proud of.
She was joined in marriage to the late Mr. Freeman Raymond Walker. To this union, two children were born. She was a faithful and dedicated wife and Mother, and grandmother. During her working career, she was employed by Thomaston Mills. After retirement, she sat with the elderly and worked various jobs caring for those who were sick. She kept busy throughout her lifetime caring for others.
Mother Walker later joined New Life Church. She came in working and serving. She served on the
hosting committee, cleaning team, and enjoyed working in the church wherever she was needed. She was faithful and a dedicated member. She loved her pastor, Pastor Greg, and First Lady, Sis. Beverly, and she loved her church family. She was the oldest member of New Life Church.
During her leisure time, she enjoyed going to church, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, visiting the sick and caring for them, and keeping her home. She loved a clean home.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Martha Lee Matthews, Susie Mae Traylor, Luella Traylor, and Mildred Traylor; five brothers, Albert Traylor, Johnny Traylor, Roosevelt Traylor, Bennie Frank Traylor, and Tyrus Traylor; and one grandson, Carlton Lamar Walker. On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the Lord called her name. She answered the call, and her spirit took flight and returned to her heavenly home. She will be greatly missed by her family, church family, and many friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Apostle Dr. Carlton (Apostle Dr. Denise) Walker of Forsyth, GA, and Mrs. Teresa Washington of Thomaston, GA; three grandchildren, one grandson raised as her own, Dacassious Walker (Shauquake Stewart) of Thomaston, GA, Ms. Tilesha Mitchelle Walker of Macon, GA and Mr. Tremaine Washington of Thomaston, GA; six great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Walker, Judah Walker, Dinasis Walker, Kali Walker, Tyreke Washington, and Preston Stewart; four great-great-grandchildren, Alivia Walker, Dinasis (D.J.)
